High volatile, fast-combustion Illinois Basin (ILB) steam coal, serving brick kilns and heavy industrial boilers.
Our USA Illinois Basin (ILB) coal is sourced from extensive reserves in the midwestern United States. Classified as high-volatile bituminous coal, ILB is widely recognized as a highly cost-effective thermal energy solution.
While it exhibits higher sulphur content than NAPP coal, it features exceptionally fast ignition rates and uniform sizing. When used in appropriate combustion environments or blended with other coal grades, ILB coal delivers high heat release curves, helping factories lower their overall landed cost per kilocalorie.

ILB Coal stands for Illinois Basin coal, mined in the midwestern United States (primarily Illinois, Indiana, and Western Kentucky). It is a high-volatile bituminous coal that serves as a highly economical fuel option for large industrial units.
ILB coal typical sulphur range is 2.5% to 3.8%. Industrial units manage this either by using exhaust desulphurisation scrubbers (FGD) to comply with local emission norms, or by blending ILB coal with ultra-low sulphur coals (like Indonesian sub-bituminous coal) to achieve an acceptable average sulphur content.
Brick kilns operate on a continuous burning cycle where direct heat and high flame propagation are critical. The high volatile matter in ILB coal ensures rapid combustion, a longer flame length, and high heat release rates, which results in faster and more uniform brick baking.
